Getting to Albury-Wodonga

The main international port of entry into Australia for most delegates is Sydney followed by Melbourne. Delegates will clear customs and have a range of domestic transport options to Albury-Wodonga from both locations.

By air:

Albury is one of the most accessible regional locations in Australia, with a major airport that is serviced daily by three major airlines from Sydney (nine flights daily – Qantas, Virgin Australia , Regional Express) and Melbourne (four flights daily – Regional Express). One way flights take 50 min and can cost between $100 and $300 AUD ($75 - $225 USD) depending on airline and time of day.

By train:

Albury lies on the heart of the XPT rail line between Sydney and Melbourne. The train ride is extremely scenic, competitively priced and takes approximately eight hours (ex-Sydney) and four hours (ex-Melbourne). Rail tickets cost between $50 and $120 AUD ($35 - $90 USD) depending on departure time and carriage class.  Further information on rail can be found here.

By car:

The border region lies on the Hume Freeway, the major roadway connecting Sydney to Melbourne. Hire car companies are located at international airports in both Sydney and Melbourne. Albury-Wodonga is approximately five hours from Sydney and three hours from Melbourne. Driving in Australia is on the left hand side.

Overview and Facilities

The Albury Entertainment Centre’s main auditorium accommodates up to 800 people in air-conditioned armchair comfort over two tiered levels. The facility easily accommodates up to five concurrent sessions, with all rooms in close walking proximity to each other.


The Albury Entertainment Centre is situated in the heart of the Albury CBD within easy walking distance to a broad range of shops, cafes, restaurants, major hotels, motels, pubs and nightclubs.
