Description: The Willamette Valley (AVA) is home to one of the world’s premier Pinot Noir producing regions. There are many great examples of cool weather grapes throughout the valley that are cultivated and guided along by passionate individuals. With over 420 wineries, the region has boundless microclimates and styles to explore. The affordable price point for some excellent wines and beautiful views are a major attractions for touring wineries in the southern Willamette Valley.

The tour will begin at Brigadoon, which is 40 minutes south of Corvallis just off the 99. Matt Shown (Winemaker) will meet us to guide us through Brigadoon’s estate wines. Matt will share his local knowledge and provide us with a review of the Brigadoon barrel room. Brigadoon also has a reputation for environmental stewardship and sustainability.

From Brigadoon we will venture northwest to an urban winery, Spindrift. Matt Compton (winemaker) has over 20 years of experience. Having started his career managing the research vineyard at OSU, Matt is equally involved in procuring the vines as he is making the wines. Matt relies on multiple vineyard sites to take full advantage of the multi-climate conditions that the south valley can provide.

15 minutes north will find us at the picturesque destination of Lumos Wine Company. Recently named in Wine & Spirits Top 100 Wineries, the rustic barn made tasting room and award-wining wines, Lumos is the perfect destination to sit and enjoy lunch overlooking the estate vines.

The final stop will see us head northeast to Illahe. A sustainable Vineyard and Winery, utilizing gravity fed winemaking, green energy and rainwater harvesting (no irrigation). Beautiful wines with a gorgeous south facing view of the estate.
